Exemplary use of hyperlinks and headlines

I think the BBC News Web site uses most of this module’s criteria for smart hyperlinking and textual organization.

1. This Web site’s front page maximizes functionality; it’s headlines are descriptive and hyperlinked to follow on stories. Even when read alone, or out of context, the hyperlinks make sense to readers.

2. There is a low-graphic version that enables low-bandwidth users to opt for less imagery, while accessing the same content. The site benefits from lots of images and graphics, but the low-graphic version shows sensitivity for non-broadband users.

3. The format of the site is consistent throughout. No page is a dead end, and navigational aids ensure users will not get “lost.”
