Unconference upadate: ConvergeSouth

On October 7th and 8th, Greensboro, NC will host an unconference on new media titled

ConvergeSouth: Creativity on the Web for all people

I love whenever my hometown is recognized for its uniquely vibrant blogging/new media community. Over the past year, it's been fun to watch the local newspaper experiment w/ new media through their encouragement of citizen journalism and admirable fielding of editorial blogs.

If this is anything like February's "unconference" in Chapel Hill, it should be a remarkable weekend. A journalism and new media conference will convene at NC A&T on Friday. Then on Saturday, the blogging conference will get underway.

Be sure to check out Ed Cone's welcome notes and FAQ. There are some incredibly bright people signed up to lead/facilitate this thing.

The weather should be delicious, the food will be free.

Don't miss this chance to participate in an event that itself demonstrates the way new communications technologies make collaboration a world-changing force.
